The Shenzhen office is located in a relatively new economic zone in Guangdong province bordering Hong Kong. Less than three decades ago, Shenzhen was a tiny village surrounded by farmland. Today, it boasts a population of 7 million. Through two decades of economic growth it has become the cross border gateway to southern China.

Beginning in 1990 a number of Hong Kong jewellery manufacturers relocated their manufacturing facilities to Shenzhen and Guangdong province to take advantage of the area’s lower labor and property costs.

Shenzhen today is home to the vast majority of the diamond and jewelry manufacturers in this region. It accounts for almost 80% of the total gold consumption and 70% of the diamond trade in China. Brink’s is capable of servicing door-to-door anywhere in Guangdong province either overland through cross-border transportation to or from Hong Kong or via airfreight. To better accommodate this critical market, Brink’s established a representative office in Shenzhen in January 2001 and has since expanded its range of services across various product lines.
